Sometimes you need to feel heard and validated
You would benefit from a one-on-one virtual support session if you:
- Are preparing for an upcoming birth with expected loss.
- Recently got a devastating diagnosis and want to talk through the options before proceeding.
- Need resources and ideas for coping due to a perinatal loss.
- Don’t feel comfortable in a support group setting, yet still want an opportunity to talk and learn.
- Have been carrying the weight of grief after a previous loss and never had the chance to process it.
- Want to talk to someone who understands your experience and will listen to your story without judgment or discomfort.
Loss is a topic that can be difficult to discuss with the people we are close to, or perhaps you don’t feel heard or validated by those around you.
Have you just found out that you have lost or will lose your baby? I can help you understand what to expect and how to make the experience as comfortable (both physically and emotionally) as possible. Preplanning can make a huge difference in how you experience this life-altering event.
Have you already been through your loss? I can help you find the resources and support you need, process your experience, or learn to manage life as a grieving parent.
I am available to meet with you virtually to discuss any loss-related concerns you may have.
You can confidentially talk to me and I will listen without judgment. Talking can help you release pent-up feelings, frustrations, and concerns without worrying how you will be perceived or how your feelings may impact those you care about.
I am not a counselor or therapist. I don’t offer advice or recommend actions unless directly asked for my opinion. I can provide referrals for further support services, or factual information about the topic, but you are in control of the discussion at all times. Confidentiality, advocacy, educatioin and a nonjudgemental ear are the cornerstones of what I offer.
My experience working with young families during the childbearing years makes me an exceptionally qualified resource on all topics related to grief, pregnancy, birth, birth trauma, newborns, postpartum, parenting issues, fertility, pregnancy after loss, and perinatal bereavement.
Sessions are generally done via video chat or phone (without video) if that is more comfortable. In some instances in-person services are available. These sessions are for you, and there is no judgment about how you show up. Pajamas, wet hair, tears, grabbing a meal, dogs, and kids, are all very common for the population I am serving. Come as you are/can.
Virtual consults are not a substitute for clinical care, it is an opportunity to gather information and resources and to feel heard and understood.
If this sounds like something you would like to try, feel free to contact me for more information.
